Benefit Cosmetics Review : Porefessional and Porefessional Matte Rescue

Pores Away! At least, that’s what I was looking for with these two products from Benefit. I have heard so many great things about these products from YouTubers and my fellow friends and MUA’s, but never tried them for myself. So an offer came up in my local Debenhams and it was a box containing Porefessional, Porefessional Matte Rescue, and the Porefessional Face Mask (Review on that soon). I decided I’d finally purchase and test the products for a week straight.

So, to start off with Porefessional. This is the one I was most excited to try. It’s main ingredient is Silica which is extremely good at blurring and filling in your pores for the illusion of POREfected skin. It’s essentially a silicone mask to hide your pores. I must say I’m extremely impressed with the results. I use this primer next to my nose on my cheeks just before my under-eyes and also slightly on the tip of my nose. My pores seemed to have vanished! It was an extremely silky feel and I absolutely loved the semi-matte finish it gave. It comes out of the tube like a foundation made out of silicone but once it’s blended into your skin it’s colourless. It really did hide my pores and seemed to keep any make-up from setting into them. The only thing I noted was that it didn’t seem to help my oiliness; so if you’re looking for something that does, keep reading.the-porefessional-value-size-hero.png

Now, Porefessional Matte Rescue. This was the star of the show. It did everything Porefessional did but it also kept me matte! I applied it to my forehead, bridge of my nose, and my chin; the consistency was a silky gel that quickly dried off matte. It stopped my oiliness all day and I didn’t really need to do my afternoon powder touch up. Any shine I had was converted into a natural radiance to my skin and stopped that horrible, slick, greasy feeling you get when your skin starts to produce sebum. It has extracts of mushrooms within it and a tiny amount of diamond powder which, well as one could imagine, does wonders for your skin! They say diamonds are a girls best friend (or mans, in my case). The lady at the counter told me I could also apply it ON TOP of my foundation! I was very skeptical but decided I’d give it a go anyways. Well, It didn’t affect the coverage/colour of my tinted moisturizer at all. It looked exactly the same and kept me EVEN MORE matte. If you were to apply this once in the morning and do a single reapplication in the afternoon with a powder, this would last you until 1am with no shine. One application in the evening if you are going out would be more than enough to keep you matte for your fun-filled night!the-porefessional-matte-rescue-hero.png

All in all I think these are both brilliant products and I can see what all the fuss is about. I prefer matte rescue but only because I have more oily skin plus I’m a skin care freak (so the diamond powder was a selling point). For drier skin types porefessional would be just as good for you! I hope you enjoyed my first review and remember to follow my blog for the upcoming review of the face mask and more!
